Solar Drift is a four-minute site-responsive digital projection that reimagines the ancient framework of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms through the lens of machine perception. By capturing local topographic contours and real-time climate variables—wind velocity, humidity, and temperature—the artwork employs generative AI algorithms to translate environmental data into an ever-shifting choreography of light, form, and sound. Here, the site’s natural rhythms are decoded and re-manifested as an immersive digital meditation, questioning how we perceive the subtle cadences of the earth within a deeply algorithmic age.

《时节流转》是一件时长四分钟的在地性数字投影作品,它尝试从机器感知的视角重新阐释中国传统的“二十四节气”。作品采集现场特有的地形轮廓与即时气象数据(风速、湿度、温度等),借助生成式人工智能算法,将这些自然脉动转译为光、形与声的连续流变。在此,现场的环境律动被解码并重构为一场沉浸式的数字冥想,探问在数据与算法主导的时代中,人类如何重新感知大地的细微节律。

Captured here are individual moments from the twenty-four distinct visual scenes, each corresponding to a specific solar term. Operating as an algorithmic witness, the AI does not merely replicate the visual forms of nature; instead, it uses climate data as its sensory input to drive the structural logic of each frame. Driven by the sun's position, temperature, and wind data, the system allows colors to breathe within light and particles to drift like wind-borne seeds. These stills represent specific temporal architecture—sensorial tides of seasonal energy frozen in time.

此处呈现的是对应二十四节气的独立视觉场景静帧。在这套系统中,人工智能扮演着一种独特的“机器证人”角色——它不单纯复刻自然的具象轮廓,而是将气象数据作为感官输入,驱动每一帧画面的结构逻辑。在太阳高度、温度与风速的牵引下,色彩在光影中呼吸,粒子如风中之种般漂移。这些静帧记录了特定的时空架构,将季节能量的感官潮汐定格于此。

The foundational architecture of Solar Drift originates from the physical landscape of Lingqiu. During fieldwork, the sinuous pathways carved by local mountain ridges and waterways were extracted via satellite terrain mapping, isolating twelve key curves that shape the region's microclimate and geographic identity. By combining these structural trajectories with open-source regional meteorological data, the project bridges physical topography and digital space. These photographs and research materials document the transition from raw, earthbound curves to the fluid, generative data streams that animate the final artwork.

《时节流转》的底层架构源自对灵丘自然地貌的在地考察。在田野调查期间,周边山脉与水系自然延伸的蜿蜒曲线被提取出来——通过卫星地形图提炼出塑造当地微气候与地理特征的十二条关键轨迹。以此地貌线条为骨架,结合当地政府公开的气象与天文数据,作品在物理地形与数字空间之间搭建起一座桥梁。这些现场照片与研究材料记录了创作者如何将大地的原生曲线,转化为最终驱动数字影像流变的生成式数据流。
